...right, so I'm completely in love with Cross Game now. You'll hear a lot about it. I think it's going to be one of my favorite sports manga (namely baseball manga) - I like it even more than Ookiku Furikabutte, and Ookiku Furikabutte is quite good, although I don't really follow it anymore due to my short attention span. But yeah, anyway. I love Cross Game so much. *∆* My favorite characters are Wakaba Tsukishima and Yuhei Azuma, and I also like Momiji Tsukishima and Nomo, her kitty, although they're background characters. But the kitty is so damn cute, I can't stop staring at him. Wakaba, well... there are many reasons why I like her, and no, I won't spoil you. Kou Kitamura, the protagonist, is quite a charming kid as well. LOOK, PEOPLE, JUST READ THIS MANGA. ;;;
Random drabble rec: A Pound of Flesh (Hatake x Kanou).
What can I say? Ookiku Furikabutte is excellent. My favorite characters (so far) are Motoki Haruna, Ren Mihashi and Maria Momoe, and I also want Chiyo Shinooka to get more proper development since she's a very sweet kid and, well, I sort of ship her with Ren. ...um, yeah, I like Ookiku Furikabutte het, I guess I'm going to be in the fandom minority again. ^^; But I don't have anything against yaoi. And gen is the best option anyway because the story is largely non-romantic and I'm interested in stuff like Ren's nonexistent self-esteem or Motoki's ambitions. Motoki fascinates me. I'm at volume 5 of the manga right now so I still don't know THAT much about him, but he's complex enough for my tastes. Oh, by the way, here are my first fanart recs! 01 - a lovely group illustration; 02 - some mind-numbingly cute Chiyo pics; 03 - a good Kanou x Mihashi site (I think it's Kanou x Mihashi...).
I like baseball a lot (well, in theory). It’s kinda amusing because I’m not into sports at all. But I used to play Baseball, The Abridged Version™ with Kay, my second cat, in childhood. I was the batter and Kay was everyone else. Then Kay died from some cat disease and I stopped wrecking the apartment on a semi-daily basis because it didn’t feel the same without him. But yesterday I downloaded the first chapter of Ookiku Furikabutte, a monthly seinen manga about... yes, baseball. And I fell in love with it. In an instant. I mean, the main character, Ren Mihashi, is a weak, insecure kid with gigantic issues. Takaya Abe, his new teammate, strikes me as a control freak and that’s great, too. And their manager, Maria Momoe, has epic tits. I’m sorry if that makes me sound like a dirty old man, I... can’t deny the truth, you know? Anyway, I definitely want more of this even though the art style isn't super pretty or refined (nobody can beat Takeshi Obata-sensei, I guess).
